Biography

Kaio System

Spectbaku 016

Young Krux.

Around thirty years ago, Krux was the Spectrobe Master of the Kaio system. He and his partner Kamtoga lived and worked out of a cave on Wyterra, near Haven Village. Data gathered from observations and experiments were meticulously recorded onto memo disks to pass on to future Spectrobe Masters.

One day, he and Kamtoga stumbled upon a crashed and burning Patrol Cruiser. Krux checks the vessel for survivors, and finds the young NPP officer Grant amongst the debris. The two escape the ship before it explodes, and the three become close friends, fighting off the Krawl together.

Later, Grant stumbled onto a fluid that could be used to grow Krawl. The fluid proved to be quite dangerous; a batch of sample cells matured and tried to attack him. Grant destroyed the sample, but Krux had been secretly watching the experiment. He believed that they could use the fluid to strenghten themselves against the Krawl. Grant was concerned with the consequences, but Krux thought that Grant was trying to keep the fluid all for himself. Krux stole the vial of the dark fluid, knocking Grant unconcious, and then used it on himself. True to Grant's predictions, it turned out to be dangerously powerful and uncontrollable. His body and mind were twisted by the fluid and became half Krawl, half human. From there, with evil intentions, Krux went on to become the master of the Krawl.

Krux in Spectrobes: Beyond the Portals

In Spectrobes: Beyond the Portals, Krux is the final boss. Krux had soon made up a plan: A way to open portals through which the Krawl access the Nanairo system, but Rallen and Jeena were put on the mission to stop them, defeating his four High Krawl.

In the end, they finally arrived on the planet of Malik, the hiding place of Krux. Before directly engaging Rallen, Krux summons his "True Dark Spectrobes," Dolgon and Dolgan. Once they are defeated, Krux, in a fury, sends out Kragon, which takes no damage from Rallen's standard Spectrobes, requiring the unexpected activation of the Flame Geo, which houses the Ultimate Form Spectrobe, Tindera. In the end, Krux battled Rallen, but Rallen defeated him, cleaving the mask in two and revealing his face, but Krux quickly disappeared and escaped.

This battle is the third stage of the final boss. You can only use your sword. Krux will try to attack you, but he only stuns you temporarily. Several hits (8-12) will defeat him.

Spectrobes: Origins

After his defeat by Rallen, Krux was able to regroup the Krawl armies, hoping to send them from Kaio to Nanairo once again. However, he had really been planning to use them to destroy the Kaio system. Krux had also been appearing across Kaio, though it was later revealed that this was Jado.

On Bahmud, the true Krux appeared and talked about his past with Grant and Kamtoga. Jado requested that he destroy them and Jeena and Rallen. Unfortunately, he thinking Jado could be weaker Krawl, then left to initiate his true plan: using a giant mass of Krawl the size of a small planetoid, called a Krawlosphere, to crash into Wyterra.

Krux without his mask

Rallen and Jeena fought him and massive swarms of Krawl within the Krawlosphere. After defeating him and his Krawl, he falls into a hole in the center of the chamber he is fought in, his mask coming off in the process.

A cutscene that appears after beating the game's second quest reveals a shadowy mass on one of the chunks of ice orbiting Wyterra turning itself into Krux, indicating that he is still alive.

Spectrobes: Origins Database bio

"Archenemy of Rallen and all humankind. Has the horrific ability to control the entire Krawl race. A mask hides his true face."

Description

Spectrobe Master

Like Aldous and Rallen, Krux has long, orange hair and prefers to wear a white outfit with an orange cloak. His Cosmolink has the same standard shape as a Prizmod (they may be separate) although it has orange edges with a green light on the spine.

Krawl Leader

Krux is a very formidable and powerful opponent. His age is unknown, but he does not appear to be any older than Grant (who seems to be in his 50's or 60's). He normally appears as a tall figure in a black cloak wearing a mask that surges with an eerie red light. Under the mask, the right side of his face is fused with some sort of Krawl-like growth. This same side also has a clawed tendril that he can use to disarm or immobilize foes. In Beyond the Portals, Krux becomes enraged when his true face is revealed, although in Origins he willingly removes his mask.

Krux retains a Prizmod from his days as a Spectrobe Master, although it is black with red lights, instead of white with blue lights.

Character

Spectrobe Master

Krux was kindhearted toward the people of the Kaio system. He was patient and willing to help others, even when it put him in danger. He cared deeply for Kamtoga, his partner. His undoing probably came from personal ambition and passion for destroying the Krawl, since he believed that the dark mystery fluid would make him stronger.

Krawl Leader

Krux is angry and impatient. He resents normal Spectrobes. This can be seen in his refusal to utilize the creatures themselves, although he has a functional Prizmod of his own.

Spectrobes

As a Spectrobe Master, Krux had a number of Spectrobes. These Spectrobes, which fossilized some time after Krux's fall to darkness, held memories of their former master. Rallen and Jeena later viewed these memories when they find them in Spectrobes: Origins.

Krux's Old Spectrobes

True Dark Spectrobes

As the Krawl overlord, Krux created what he calls True Dark Spectrobes. These were crosses of Spectrobes and Krawl, with the combined powers of the two types of creatures.

  • Dolgon & Dolgan: These two were created by Krux to be the supreme dominant species over the Spectrobes. They looked the same, but had different attacks. They were defeated by Rallen.
  • Kragon: An even stronger True Dark Spectrobe, being invulnerable to the attacks of Adult and Evolved Spectrobes. It looks like a cross between Dolgan and Dolgon, although larger. Rallen's team engaged it in battle, and he was only able to defeat it with the power of a Geo. Throughout the fight, it did not move or attack.
